Dos Pueblos High School is pleased to announce that this summer we will break ground on the Elings Center for Engineering Education (ECEE). This state-of-the-art learning facility will be the new home of the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy. The building is funded entirely from donations from local philanthropists, philanthropic organizations, and business partners, along with a competitive matching grant from the California Department of Education. The grant is intended to help schools and school districts to create new facilities for career and technical education programs.
On Wednesday, June 16 at 5:00 PM, an informational meeting will be held for neighbors of Dos Pueblos High School in H-30 on the DPHS campus. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information regarding the ECEE project and to answer any questions regarding construction activities, management of the constructions site, traffic patterns during and after construction, project duration, building use, the DP Engineering Academy, and environmental impacts/mitigation among other things. Representatives of the Santa Barbara School Districts, Dos Pueblos High School, the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy, the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy Foundation, the project architect, and the contractor will all be present to provide information and answer questions.
Neighbors who live on Alameda and Del Norte will receive flyers on their doorsteps inviting them to the meeting; however, any neighbor who is interested in learning more about the project is welcome. Please join us as we officially kick off this exciting project.
